We are taking necessary steps to contest the elections alone - AIADMK's Udumalai Radhakrishnan in Palladam

Udumalai Radhakrishnan, a former minister and MLA from Palladam, said that the party is taking necessary steps to ensure that the AIADMK contests the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on its own.

Tirupur: MLA Udumalai Radhakrishnan has complained that the law and order situation has deteriorated due to the absence of a review meeting held during the AIADMK regime.

In Palladam assembly constituency in Tirupur district, a meeting of the booth committee was held to discuss the appointment of polling agents on behalf of the AIADMK.

The meeting was chaired by former minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan MLA.

The meeting was attended by party functionaries and members. "In the coming Parliamentary elections, we have to win by a large margin of votes. It was advised to inform the people about the welfare schemes of the AIADMK regime."

Speaking at a press conference, former minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan MLA said that the general secretary of the party will decide on the alliance. During the AIADMK regime, we held department-wise review meetings every month. We held a review meeting on the police. We found out which police station area had the highest number of crimes and sought the views of the legislators and thereby apprised the then Chief Minister and took action on the law and order problem.

But now such review meetings are not being held properly and law and order has deteriorated. "We are taking necessary steps as per the advice of the General Secretary to enable the AIADMK to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on its own," he said.

Palladam MLA M S M Anandan, former MLA Karaiputhur Natarajan, Paramasivam and Tiruppur Suburban West district area secretary, members, office bearers of the party and many others participated in the booth committee meeting.
