Grama Sabha meeting postponed in Siru Kinaru panchayat as Public raise scathing questions against non removal of TASMAC shop

The meeting was postponed after the villagers posed a series of questions at a village cooking meeting held at Siru Kinaru panchayat in Tirupur district.

Tirupur: The panchayat president left the grama sabha meeting midway after the public asked him why he had not taken steps to remove the Tasmac shop.

A grama sabha meeting was held at Siru Kinaru panchayat near Dharapuram Kundadam in Tirupur district. The grama sabha meeting was presided over by president Chellamuthu and the grama sabha meeting will be held only if more than 100 people attend the meeting. In this situation, the people in the village have come to the grama sabha meeting.

However, president Chellamuthu and the public raised a scathing question that the TASMAC shop in Nochipalayam area should be removed.

They questioned why he didn't take steps to dispose of the TASMAC shop. They also complained that the panchayat administration was lax in providing basic amenities such as drinking water, sewerage, tar road, street lights, garbage disposal etc.

Unable to respond to this, panchayat president Chellamuthu stayed away from the meeting halfway through the meeting. Thereafter, the officials said that the grama sabha meeting will be postponed temporarily as there are not enough villagers participating in the grama sabha meeting.
