'What started a socio movement has now transformed into a political party with 7 lakh members across the state of Tamil Nadu. Our party will strive hard to work against all odds for the betterment of people', said representatives of 'En Desam En Urimai' the newly formed political party who took part in the Jallikattu protests.

Speaking to the media in the city, the party's Coimbatore District representatives stated that their party will contest in the upcoming local body elections and the selection of candidates in Coimbatore is scheduled to take place between 17th and 18th of this month.
They also clarified that shortly the RK Nagar Candidate will be announced and a group of 10 people who have shown their interest to contest will meet the RK Nagar residents and interact with them. 'We have left the option to the people, amongst the proposed candidate people of RK Nagar will decide their own contestant', they said.
