Ruckus broke out between the drivers and a Senior officer at the Sungam bus depot, this morning due to which close to 50 government buses were not operated.

A couple of days ago, a government bus that was en route from Gandhipuram to Vellingiri was blocked by a group of drunkards who indulged in a scuffle with the driver, Selvam and the conductor of the bus. In this regard, a complaint was filed at the Alandurai police station.
Today, driver Selvam was supposed to report to the police station for investigation. Hence, Selvam had requested permission from his senior official to be present in the police station. It is been reported that the senior official not only denied but did not pay attention in rendering his support to Selvam. Hence, in no time a verbal war broke out between the drivers and conductors who condemned the senior official's lethargic attitude and boycotted to operate buses from the depot.
The infuriated drivers and conductors were determined to continue their protest, this brought MLA Amman K Arjunan and Police to the spot. After 4 hours, the drivers and conductors were pacified by South Constituency MLA Amman K Arjunan and Police, who assured to initiate action against the incident. Close to 50 buses were not operated from the depot which caused severe inconvenience to the passengers.
