The City Municipal Corporation has opted to take tough stance against property tax defaulters by disconnecting their water connections at all five zones in the city. A meeting in this regard was convened at the Corporation Office chaired by Corporation Commissioner Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan. K. Ravikumar, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) and P. Gandhimathi, Deputy Commissioner, CCMC and other officials from revenue and corporation were present during the meet.

'Despite, repeated warnings, those defaulters who pay no heed to clear their pending property tax dues will attract water and underground drainage disconnection. Repeated warnings and awareness has been created urging the public to pay taxes promptly. Before opting for the tough stance of disconnecting their utilities, warning notices to the defaulters reminding them of their pending dues have been served' said Special officer Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan.
During the meet, with the revenue department officials, action plan to collect 100% of all pending corporation taxes were discussed in detail. During the meet Corporation Commissioner passed strict orders to the officials to act stern on such tax defaulters and work to collect 100% of pending dues in all five zones.
