Drunk driver parks school pickup drop vehicle in the middle of the road and dozes off near Vadavalli

The vehicle used for pickup and drop of private school students near Kovaipudur was parked in the middle of the road in Gurusamy Nagar area along with the school children. During investigation, it was revealed that driver Senthil could not drive under the influence of alcohol. In this case, the parents have urged the school management to take action against the driver.



Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a school vehicle carrying students was stopped in the middle of the road near Kovaipudur and the driver of the vehicle fell asleep under the influence of alcohol.

Thousands of children are studying in private schools in Kovaipudur. Some of the parents bring the children to school and take them away after school is over. Similarly, a few children will be sent by the parents in the school vehicle.

Based on this, the contract vehicles of the school were travelling from Kovaipudur to various parts of the city to pick up the children, while the vehicle carrying the school children from Vadavalli stopped in the middle of the road in Gurusamy Nagar area.



When I went, I saw that the driver of the vehicle was sleeping. On enquiry, it was revealed that the driver's name was Senthil and he was sleeping on top of the steering wheel as he was unable to drive due to the intoxication of alcohol.



The parents came to know about the incident and rushed to the spot. The school was immediately informed. Subsequently, an alternate vehicle was arranged and the 12 children were taken to school.



The parents of the children informed the police that appropriate action should be taken against the driver Senthil for driving under the influence of alcohol and the police have seized the vehicle and are interrogating the driver at the police station.
