"Akhil Bharatiya Sannyasis Association will be conducting the Noyyal festival from August 25th to 31st at the Perur Thirumada premises. The Akhil Bharat Sannyasis' Association is an organisation that brings together all the saints across the country. It was founded by Ramananda Swamigal. The aim of this association is to revere rivers as divine and it is our tradition to celebrate the rivers," said Perur Adheenam Santhalinga Marudasala Adigalar.

"We have been on a pilgrimage from Kodagu to Kaveripoompattinam in the month of Aippasi to create awareness about water management. Cauvery Pushkarani Maha Magam is a grand festival for the rivers that we brought about and have celebrated for five days in Palar. Similarly, we have decided to hold a seven-day festival in Noyyalar. The Noyyal river originates in the Velliangiri Hills and joins the Noyyal. We are planning to conduct various programmes to create awareness about it. We have conducted competitions for children and invited students of colleges for programs to create awareness.," he added.

"Now the Noyyal festival will be celebrated for seven days from August 25th till the 31st. The Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi will inaugurate the festival on August 25th and two seminars will be held every day with sacrifices performed early in the morning. Seven platforms will be set up and seven 'aartis' will be performed. Cultural programmes will also be held. Rivers should be worshipped and protected, and we will have a ceremony for that.

The Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan, Andhra Pradesh Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Tamil Nadu Minister for Religious and Charitable Endowments Sekar Babu, Minister M P Saminathan, Minister S Muthusamy and BJP leader Annamalai will also be present on the occasion. About 500 saints from across the country will be attending the event. Annam has been arranged for everyone. We have taken 20 kms up to Chitra Chavadi for Noyyal cleanlines which is where the waste accumulates. Cleaning will be done with the help of vehicles. We are going to jointly do this through the Jai Shakti project along with municipal corporations, municipalities and panchayat samitis," detailed Perur Adheenam Santhalinga Marudasala Adigalar.
