Sri Krishna Arts and Science College (SKASC) celebrates college Annual Day

Sri Krishna Arts and Science College (SKASC) recently celebrated its College Annual Day and valedictory function of Tamil Association was also celebrated at this college campus. Kalaimamani Marabin Mainthan Muthaiah was the Chief Guest and he motivated the students of this college through his address.



“I appreciate you all for your achievements in various fields. One should never under-estimate the potential of students of arts and science disciplines. It must not be forgotten that the top achievers in our society are from the arts and science discipline of study. Most of the Government posts still are occupied by the people from arts and science colleges and too in politics students from arts and science streme have made a mark for themselves.”

“But in politics, there are no good role models for the present day youths. The then Chief Minister Kamarajar was the best role model for the youth some three decades before. Now politics lacks such role models so the contemporary youth, are diverted in wrong ways.”

He also told the students to shed away their fears, worries, insults, setbacks failures and these should not be carried away with these aspects that they have to deal with. All these should be forgotten and find out alternative ways for the above. Regarding friendship he said unconditional friendship is always best one and such friendships will continue till end of our life. He also asked the students to develop various skills. The real education always direct in the positive ways. Everyone should study for life development, the chief guest told his audience.



Several students and staff of this college were rewarded with awards for their various achievements in the academic, research articles publications and extracurricular activities. The best out going students for UG courses went to Pradeep, Final Year, B.Com(P.A), for PG courses Prasanth of final year M.Sc (S.S), for NSS contributions Rajkumar of II year B.Sc (Microbiology) secured and received awards and certificates. The overall performance award in cultural activities for the year went to mathematics department and bio-technology department secured the first place for drama performances. 

 

This programme was initiated by Dr.K.Sundararaman, CEO with his presidential speech. Dr.P.Babagnanakumar, Principal of the college presented the college day report. Dr.Vijayasamundeshwari, Vice Principal of the college, Prof.Sunitha, Controller of Examinations, parents, professors, students among others participated.
