Attempt to demolish shops for flyover work near Ukkadam - Public protested in protest

The public staged a sit-in protest against the highways department's attempt to demolish shops on the left side of Pollachi road for the ongoing flyover work between Ukkadam and Athupalam.

The construction of a flyover between Ukkadam and Athupalam in Coimbatore for a distance of about 2.4 km is in progress.



As a result, the highways department officials went there today to demolish the shops on the left side of the road from Athupalam to Pollachi.



The residents of the area had a heated argument with the authorities protesting against the demolition of the shops. In the meantime, when there was no agreement in the talks, they suddenly blocked the road.



Due to this, there was heavy traffic jam between Ukkadam and Athupalam for a distance of about 2 km. Motorists had to face a lot of difficulties. The officials held talks with those who blocked the road.

The sudden road blockade created panic in the area.
