Farmers' unions protest to sell coconut oil to be sold at ration shops

The ration shops should ban palm oil and distribute coconut oil. The non-party aligned Tamil Nadu Farmers' Association staged a protest in front of the Tirupur collectorate, demanding the lifting of the ban on toddy and the eight-point charter of demands, including the lifting of the ban on toddy.

Ration shops should be provided with coconut oil instead of palm oil imported from the country. Like other states in India, the ban on toddy in Tamil Nadu should be lifted. The difficulties in the export of coconuts should be removed.

Peeled green coconut should be procured at the rate of 50 per kg through cooperative societies. Copra coconut should be fixed at Rs 140 per kg.

The difficulties faced by the value-added marketing industry such as coconut based by-products such as fibre industry, fibre granules, etc., should be removed.



The non-party Tamil Nadu Farmers' Association air-node youth wing and coconut farmers of Tirupur and Coimbatore districts held a protest in front of the district collectorate in front of the district collectorate to protest against the eight-point charter of demands.
