TNAU’s Weed Science Centre has developed a integrated weed management technologies for different crops, such as rice, soybean, sugarcane, groundnut, onion, sugar beet, tobacco, maize and also aquatic weeds. In recognition for their contributions in this field, this center was recently awarded.

Weed management center of Tamil Nadu Agriculture University (TNAU) is selected as the National Best Center Award for the year 2016-2017. This award was presented to TNAU Last month during the 24th annual review meeting which was hosted at the Maharana Pratap Agriculture University and Technology, Udaipur.
Dr. C. Chinnusamy, Professor (Agronomy) and Principal Investigator and Dr. P. Murali Arthanari, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) received the award from Dr. Uma Shankar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, MPAUT, Udaipur in the presence of Dr. S. Baskar, Assistant Director General (Agronomy), ICAR, New Delhi and Dr. A.R. Sharma, Director, Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur.
