Plus Max Group of Companies opened its doors in Coimbatore with the launch their first Duty Paid Shop at the Coimbatore International Airport. The Duty Free Shop was declared open by V Rajendran I.R.S Commissioner, Central Excise Board in presence of C Maheshwaran, Director Ministry of Finance New Delhi and Dato's S.Prakadeesh Kumar CEO of Plus Max Group were present during this launch.

Dato's S.Prakadeesh Kumar CEO of Plus Max Group while addressing the media on the sidelines of this launch shared “Airport Authority of India invited global tenders in 2015 for operating duty free business in 15 airports in India for a 7 years contract. Based on the bid best submitted we received the award letter for five airports like Trivandrum Airport ,Madurai Airport, Vishakapatanam, Pune and Coimbatore Airport. Out of these airports we are more than happy to launch the first outlet at Coimbatore International Airport. Duty paid is though not a large industry but it is a sizeable industry. Coimbatore airport is smaller but the prospects for business here is higher as this city has an industrial and entrepreneurship background. As of now two international flights are flying Coimbatore, we have proposed a request to Malaysian Airlines for commencing services to Coimbatore and we are hoping this international operation will start soon.”
When asked about the company's investment in Coimbatore project Prakadeesh said" We have invested nearly 50 crores in this project. The duty free shop will sell a plithora of products including liquors, baggage, international chocolates and few confectionery products. Over the time we have plans of introducing more products in order to meet demand with supply, keeping in mind the choice and taste of people.”
While elaborating about the company he said " AGM Duty Free (Selatan) Sdnbhd is a pioneer in duty free trade since 1980's.The Plus Max Group of companies aims to be most innovative regional duty free operator across Asia. Apart from duty free industry we have been involved in logistics, bonded warehousing, wine yard, manufacturing and trading, oil and gas fabricators, education, hotels and property development. Our future plan is to work with more seaports and airports."
