Speaking at the IJK party's convention at Kalapatti in Coimbatore, former minister S P Velumani said Kamal Haasan had secured 50,000 votes and is yet to visit his constituency. He also alleged that the present ruling party in Tamil Nadu is neglecting Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Former minister S P Velumani has alleged at the IJK conference in Coimbatore that Kamal Haasan did not even visit the constituency after receiving votes.

The Coimbatore Regional Conference of the IJK party was held at Suguna Auditorium near Kalapatti in Coimbatore. Party president Ravi Pachamuthu was the chief guest at the conference.
Bjp's Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan and former AIADMK minister S P Velumani were among those who attended the function as chief guests.
The conference was attended by more than 500 people, including members, district office-bearers, volunteers and women, from districts like Tirupur, Erode and The Nilgiris, including Coimbatore.
Former AIADMK minister S P Velumani addressed the conference,

"Even though the DMK is in power, it is the AIADMK MLAs in Coimbatore who have given us the development that has not been there for 50 years. Kamal Haasan has secured 50,000 votes and is yet to reach the constituency.
Vanathi Srinivasan has been talking about several projects for Coimbatore in the assembly. We can also see Tamil Nadu ministers here in Coimbatore. Edappadi was sitting next to the Prime Minister. Today's ruling party in Tamil Nadu is ignoring Coimbatore.
We will win all the 40 parliamentary seats under the leadership of Edappadi K Palaniswami. Parivendar is leading the way very well. He is doing well at his own expenses. He is supported by Ravi Pachamuthu. We will bring back the neglected projects. This is what he said.
Following this, Vanathi Srinivasan, MLA from Coimbatore South constituency, spoke on the occasion,

It was Parivendar who started the first alliance with the BJP. He was the one who first came into the alliance and made the claim that Narendra Modi should become the Prime Minister.
In Parliament, Parivendar identified himself as a nationalist for the integrity of the country. The DMK did not get a single ticket and gave votes to the NDA.
The BJP government is supporting the small scale industries of the people of Coimbatore. Every victory in the times to come belongs to the NDA and India's value is changing globally. The Central Government has given tamil nadu its share of toilets and gas connection facilities for all. This is what he said.
Following this, Ravi Pachaimuthu, president of the India Jananayaka Katchi (IJK), spoke on the occasion,
We are travelling across Tamil Nadu. Leema Rose Martin has made an effort to get Kovai to speak by convening a large crowd. My heartiest congratulations for that.
I request her to organise a big conference as soon as possible. From Kanyakumari to Dharmapuri, from Chennai to Bank Coimbatore, the party has established itself as if the plants have emerged.
It will become a densely packed ten city by the 2024 elections. There is no alternative view on this. On August 24, Ayya’s birthday, I and the general secretary invite all of you and request you all to come together and celebrate.â€
