A truck laden with scrap metal was travelling from Valaparai
to Pollachi. It has been reported that when the driver tried to negotiate a
hairpin bend, this truck lost balance due to its overload and fell on its side.
Subramanian (55) a metal trader, died on the spot. The driver and the cleaner
of the truck have been admitted to a Pollachi hospital. Following this
accident, traffic was disrupted from Valparai to Azhiyar for two hours.
