Coimbatore collector T.N Hariharan today visited the Mani Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore which is an examination center for the students who are writing their Secondary School examinations which began today.
When speaking after his visit to this school he said, “The Secondary school examinations which are conducted by the School education department have begun today. The examinations are conducted in Coimbatore with two educational districts Pollachi and Coimbatore. About 34505 students are attempting this examination at 101 examination centers in Coimbatore and in Pollachi 8001 students are writing their secondary examinations in 38 examination centers. Out of the 42505 students who are writing this examination, this academic year, 1443 students are writing the examination as private candidates in Coimbatore and Pollachi. Around 377 students who have applied for the examination through Tatkal scheme are writing the examinations at 3 examination centres.”

“Arrangements have been made at the examination centers so that the basic needs of the students are fulfilled. Flying squads have been formed with the help of education department officers to keep a vigil and thus prevent any malpractices taking place. The examination centers have been divided into 10 zones and flying squads have been appointed to monitor all the zones. Police protection has also been provided to each examination center.” he said.
On behalf of the district administration, district collector wished the students who are attempting these examinations good luck.
