80 sovereigns were stolen from the window of a retired Army nurse's house near Keeranatham

Ezhisai, a former army nurse in Keenaratham, had gone abroad. Miscreants broke open his house window and stole 80 sovereigns of jewellery from the cupboard.


Coimbatore: In a distressing occurrence, 80 sovereigns of gold jewellery were stolen from the home of a retired woman nurse near Keenaratham in Coimbatore.

Akhilan is from VIP Nagar in the Coimbatore district, near Keeranatham. He has a wife, Ezhisai Vallabi (62), a retired Indian Army nurse.

For the past few days, her husband Akhilan has been staying at his daughter's house in Namakkal district. Ezhisai lived with his son Sundaravelan and daughter-in-law.

On the 7th, he went to his mother's residence in Ezhisai Mettupalayam. At the time, the son was working in Pollachi, and the daughter-in-law was visiting her mother.

When his son Sundaravelan returned to his residence on the 10th after completing his work, he found that the window panes of the house had been broken. Following this, he informed Ezhisai.

When he opened the door, he found that the house's cupboard had been broken open, and 80 sovereigns of jewellery worth approximately Rs 35 lakh had gone missing.

Following that, he filed a complaint with the Kovilpalayam police department in connection with the heist. Police reached the spot and conducted an inspection along with the forensic department. A case has been registered in connection with the robbery and a search is on for the suspects.
