Congress workers stage road blockade in Palladam against Gujarat High Court's decision in the Rahul Gandhi case

The Gujarat High Court dismissed an appeal filed against the two-year jail term awarded to senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case. The court also refused to stay Rahul Gandhi's sentence, leading to widespread protests in various parts of Tamil Nadu.



Tirupur: The Gujarat High Court dismissed an appeal filed against the two-year jail term awarded to senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case.



The Gujarat High Court also refused to stay Rahul Gandhi's two-year jail term.

The Gujarat High Court verdict has come as a major disappointment to the Congress party and has been engaged in protests across Tamil Nadu.



As part of this, more than 25 Congress workers staged a protest and road blockade in front of the Palladam bus stand in Tirupur district.



Following this, the police held talks and they dispersed. City president Easwara Murthy, north district trade wing president Maniraj and south block president Punniyamoorthy participated in the protest.
