International Women's day is celebrated on 8th March of every year to celebrate womanhood. Women's Day is celebrated since 1921 to express love and respect towards the women who try to achieve in the field of economy, politics and in society.

The international women’s day was celebrated at the old age and women home that is located in Arockiasamy road in R.S.Puram in Coimbatore. Eeera nejam trust had organised this celebrations. Sewing machine, Grinder, Goats and a small shop were provided to the differently abled womenand this was what they wished to own and possess.

Sarojini (35) is from Chennanur in Coimbatore. She is affected by Polio and is single. She has studied up to 10th standard. She is making a living by helping the people in the village to fill their applications. As per her wish a small kiosk was built for her to help her continue her services.

Latha is from Uliyamapalayam in Coimbatore. She 40 years old is also single, She is effected by polio. She is working as a tailor to meet ends meet and she is supporting her mother post her father’s death. She was provided, a sewing machine according to her wish. Sarawathi (30) who is effected by polio is from Alandurai in Coimbatore. She is working as a daily labourer and is taking care of her father and mother. She was provided with goats as per her request.
Usha 42 is from Chettipalayam in Coimbatore she is also effected by polio and she is separated from her husband. She is working as a coolie who is paying for her child’s education and is also taking care of her father. She was provided with a sewing machine.

Mala (33) from Rathinapuri in Coimbatore. both her legs are disabled due to polio attack. She is manufacturing appalam for her livelihood and to takes care of her children. She was provided with a grinder to help with her business by the Eera nenjam trust.
We have to learn from people like these. Achievers are not the only ones whom who should be recognised. Angels who inspite of their disability are working and earning for their families they are the ones who should be appreciated. We have a lot to learn from such people.

Students of Michael Job school for the orphans, students of Aradhana dance school, Anusha Dance school participated in the celebrations. “We thank the people who helped these people.” said coordinator of the Eera Nenjam foundation.
