At the time, he declared, "On July 9, the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi will lay siege to the Coimbatore Central Jail, demanding release of 37 Muslim life convicts imprisoned there."

Muslim prisoners who have been imprisoned for long years should be granted amnesty and released. On the occasion of Kalaignar centenary celebrations, the Tamil Nadu cabinet should convene this announcement and pass a resolution and grant amnesty, he said.

Yesterday, 16 parties came together in Patna to express their solidarity and held a special meeting. A choice between democracy and autocracy will be made in the election of 2024.

The meeting was held on the basis that the dictatorship should be brought down. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, who was present at the event, has set an example for India by highlighting how secular organisations in Tamil Nadu are united.

He has stated unequivocally that the same criteria can be applied. The next meeting will be held in Shimla. It is a good effort that everyone has come together against the BJP which is dividing the country on religious and other grounds. The issue raised by the Aam Aadmi Party at the meeting would be examined in the Congress parliamentary board, and a "good decision" will be made, according to Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge.

"The Governor of Tamil Nadu is working against the interests of the Tamil Nadu people." He keeps the legislative bills without assenting to them. A resolution passed by the Cabinet on prisoner release will also be forwarded to the Governor. He stated that he had to grant authorization to keep it for as long as he wanted.
