Preliminary investigation reveal that close to 9 lakh worth of property has been destroyed in the fire accident at a garment shop in Trichy road, this morning.

At around 9:30 am, a garment shop 'Haryana Handlooms' owned by Shankar caught fire intensely and close to 6 lakhs worth of garments that were stocked in the shop were burnt to ashes. The fire also spread to a nearby car trading shop 'Indo Cars' and caused damaged upto 3 lakhs, sources say.
The garment shop is located in the building owned by Pulagendhi, who is a super stockist of crackers. Unexpectedly, fire broke in the room where he had stocked the crackers, which in no time spread to the garment shop as well. After a tough fight, the fire personnel doused the fire.
It is estimated that close to 6 lakhs worth of garments and 3 lakhs worth of car accessories from the adjacent shop has been damaged in the fire accident.
