Early this morning, at Ward No:27, Chinnavedampatti the initiative 'Namadhu Wardum Namadhu Veedum' was flagged off by Regional Health Officer Arunagiri.

This initiative has been started by a few volunteers of Ward No:27, in the intent of creating a cleaner and safer environment to our future generation, as presently crucial elements for human existence like air, water and land is in a very contaminated state.
Hence, this initiative has proposed that residents of every ward should spend an hour every week to devise plans for their ward's betterment. A group called ' Samudhaya Marumalarchi Ani' will be formed by pooling all volunteers and like-minded residents of their ward who are willing to contribute their time and will towards betterment of their ward.

As a first step towards this much-needed initiative, saplings were planted in Anjugam Street, of Ward No:27. Residents of the ward actively participated in the event and ensured their contribution towards spending an hour every week for their ward's betterment. The core members of this initiative have planned that during their second phase, they could create awareness among their residents on Solid waste segregation & recycling.

During the interactive session, the residents also put-forth the pressing issues in their ward and also proposed possible solutions to resolve the issues.

Soon, the initiative will be implemented to other wards, as well, said the Officials. Health Inspector, Muruga, Superintendent of health department, Sampath and other Officials from the Health Department and City Corporation were present during the meet.
