Sri Shakthi Institute Of Engineering And Technology, Coimbatore, organized the “POWER PUFF GIRLS-17” on 3rd and 4th of March 2017, on behalf of Women’s day celebrations at the college premises. Our college girls participated in various events like Bullet riding, Jeep riding, Bullock cart riding etc.
On 3nd march 2017 by 7.00AM the day started with bullet riding 20 girls of our institution participated in this event, The main theme of this ride is to bring the awareness on “SAVE WATER, SAVE FARMER AND SAVE NATIVE BREEDS” they rode the bullet around 300 KM and crossed various districts such as Palladam, pollachi, udumalaipet, palani etc. Radio jockey Ms. Maha and Ms Ranjitha from Hello FM hosted this event and the event was witnessed by Mr.Sheelan Thangavelu, Joint Secretary of the institution. On behalf on same theme our girls has participated in jeep riding and bullock cart riding. The jeep riding has been started from VOC park ground and travelled in around Coimbatore and reached our institution. The Bullock cart riding has been started from Chinnieampalayam to college campus. On the same day a seminar given by Miss Swathi Rohit, Director of premier spinning and weaving gave a wonderful speech on women safety and Empowerment which was held at our college auditorium.
On 4rd of March, 2017 morning, our college girls participated in water volleyball and they exhibited their talents. On the same day around 3:00 pm walkathon was held from chinniampalayam to the institution and around 400 college girls with faculty participated to create awareness on save water, farmers and native breeds. A valedictory function was held at our college auditorium the honorable guest Miss Veenakumaravel, Naturals, CEO interacted with the power puff girls. She spoke on Women’s empowerment She highlighted the natural qualities that women what they posses. She asked the young girls to expose themselves in all the fields with grit, determination and endurance. She added that the women must not let down their dreams, in spite of the hurdles in their journey and not to shed their tears which would be their greatest weakness and articulated more information about women equality, women’s position in our society and the ability of women in every field. The day ended with the thought that the women should have positive spirit to face the world with the courage .
