Heavy rain in estate areas around Valparai: Tourists stuck

Tourists who came to Valparai in Coimbatore district suffered a lot as heavy rains continued to lash Valparai and its surrounding estate areas around 1 pm today.



Coimbatore: Tourists in valparai and surrounding estate areas were in distress due to heavy rains.

Even before the onset of summer, the sun was scorching in various districts of Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore, Tirupur and the Nilgiris. Meanwhile, it has been raining in various parts of the state for the past few days.

According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in several districts, including Coimbatore, from today till May 3 due to the inter-junction of easterly winds and westerly winds in the lower layers of the atmosphere.



In this situation, valparai and its surrounding estate areas in Coimbatore district have been receiving heavy rains since this afternoon.



The heavy rain that started at around 1 pm continues to rain.



Due to this, the tourists who came to Valparai in the estate areas like Valparai, Chinnakallar, Cinchona, Sirukundra, Ettiyar, Old Valparai, Rotikadai, Karumalai, Pachamalai, Urulkal, Water Pals etc. were unable to visit the tourist spots.
