Former chief minister J. Jayalalitha's 69th birthday celebration turns violent

Former Chief minister of Tamilnadu J. Jayalaitha's 69th birthday was celebrated by the AIADMK party members in Valaparai. This celebration was hosted at a hall in Valparai.

Mayil Ganesh district president of the party presided over the celebrations. Pon. Ganesh gave the welcome address. MLA from Valaparai Kasthuri Vasu, Farmers division assistant secretary Advocate Seetharaman, Jebaraj and Hamid delivered the special address.



When speaking at the meeting Jebaraj requested the MLA Katuri Vasan for the increase in the wages for the tea estate workers to Rs.310 as their counterparts in Kerala are paid.

Hamid in his speech said that Pon Ganesh and Jayaraj who spoke before him are wrong. This led to arguments between the three persons. This turned violent when some of the persons threw chairs at others who participated in the meeting. The party followers ran away from the meeting hall to save themselves following which the meeting was resumed after few hours.



When speaking at the meeting Valaparai MLA said that, “A stable government should be formed in Tamilnadu following the footsteps of former chief minister. All the 122 MLAs chose Edappadi Palanisamy as our chief minister when we were staying the Koovathur resort.”

“In the future welfare schemes will be implemented as it was done by the former Chief minister. In one week 250 people from Valaparai have been provided housing pattas with government subsidiary to build a house.” he said.



“An application has been given to the chief minister Edappadi Palanisamy in which it is requested that the Tamilnadu tea workers should be provided the same salary as provided to the workers in Kerala. Everyone should work together” he said.

In this programme Narasappan, Advocate Perumal, Kozhikkadai Shanmugam, Mixture Murugan, Sasi, Mohan, Selvaganesh, Nellai Selvan and many AIADMK party members participated.
