Queen Coimbatore 2017 was an evening of glitz and glamour!


Last evening about 30 women who are between 23 to 65-years old walked the ramp for the grand finale of Queen Coimbatore 2017. This event was hosted at Vivanta by Taj Surya and Mrs. India Earth-Jaya Mahesh and upcoming actress Sakshi Agarwal were the celebrity guests. Judging the grand finale were eight judges namely Latha Sundaram, Sheema Senthil, Devika Ramesh, Chandiara K, Naveen, Kalki Subramaniam, Vanitha and Maruthi.



In the first round all the 30 contestants walked the ramp in attire that were designed and created by a few leading boutiques in the city. From this round 15 of the women were shortlisted to participate in the sari round in which women walked the ramp in saris courtesy Bharani Pattu Centre. The 15 contestants participated in the final question and answer round. Maria, one of the contestants, was asked by one of the judges the question that how much does beauty play a role in defining a woman? A specially blessed participant, she had on stage her cousin as her integrator. With the help from her cousin, Maria conveyed “Beauty from within is what makes a woman truly beautiful. By doing good things makes a woman beautiful.”



Maria was crowned runner up one and Padma Balamurugan was second runner up while Gayathri Natarajan was crowned Queen Coimbatore 2017. After the event, Pooja Davda one of the organisers while speaking to SimpliCity said “In Coimbatore, we do not have events that encourage married women to display their talents and skills. Thus, we at Flora Events hosted Queen Coimbatore 2017.”



In a couple of months this company has plans of hosting an event exclusively for the brides-to-be.
