Grand finale of Queen Coimbatore 2017 to be hosted today


Beauty and brains are the two characteristic features that sets a woman apart from her male counterparts. Queen Coimbatore 2017 is a contest that will test these two characteristic features of the woman participants. And at the same time, this contest will provide them a platform to display their skills and talents. This is an event that has been put together by Flora Weddings, a company that has been founded by Reshma Srijay back in 2012.

Mrs.India Earth-Jaya Mahesh and also the upcoming actress Sakshi Agarwal are expected to participate in this edition of Queen Coimbatore 2017. The event is organized with the support of  Diamond city developers, Bharani pattu centre, Ocean  Jasper, Cura healthcare, CakeBee, Martin Homeopathy College, Navaratna hotel.

This edition of 'Queen Coimbatore' kick started with an amazing talent round which was conducted at Nirmala College for Women on 22nd February 2017. This round was in association with Department of Social welfare of women. The participants performed various cultural to bring awareness about the following existing acts which are for women welfare- Dowry Prohibition Act, 1985, Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act,2006, Maintenance and welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act, 2007 and Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act and Rules,2013.



There were around 1,000 viewers who were surprised by the talents in the married women participants. Some of the acts were motivating for the students to be strong and successful in life. The day was a celebration of womanhood.

The following day, on 23 February, a grooming session on skin and beauty care was hosted by Dr.Nithya from Kaya’s Clinic. The contestants were educated on valuable tips on how to maintain beauty that proved to be very beneficial. A special session on dental and smile care was hosted by Dr. Gayathri, Dentist which helped the contestants to take care of the oral health. Choreographer Mr. Balaji, from Sheriff Academy trained the participants on training for the Ramp walk and sequence formation for the mega event. He also hosted rehearsals on poses and postures helped the contestants for the grand finale of this show. The prelims venue partner is Hotel Navaratna Hotel, RS Puram.



Ahead of this grand finale a photoshoot  by renowned  photographer Kalidas from ‘You photography’ was carried out. The photoshoot was held at Diamond  City (Title Sponsor) developer’s new upcoming project- ‘Vyoma’ Sundapalyam Road, Poosaripalayam. The attire worn by the contestants was sponsored by Bharani Pattu Cente, Avinashi Road.

Today, 26 February is the grand finale of Queen Coimbatore 2017. This programme will be hosted at Vivanta by Taj, Race Course. The show will start by 3:30 pm to 09:30 pm. There will be 3 rounds. The first round will have the contestants walking in designer wears along with their designers, highlighting their boutiques. The 2nd round is a traditional round sponsored by Bharani pattu centre where the filtered contestants will be walking the ramp in silk saris from Bharani pattu centre , Coimbatore. The final round will test the attitude of the contestants with a question and the winners will be selected.



In between the three rounds, there will be an entertaining performances from Footloose dance academy, Coimbatore and a fashion show depicting ’Fashion recycled’ by the kids of Micheal Job’s school. As a part of this programme, a special session where a few women achievers who have worked towards social causes will be recognized and awarded.
