Tragedy near Dharapuram: Labourer dies after falling into well

Perumal, a native of Anaikaundanpatti in Karur, was found dead in a newy dug well on an agricultural land near Dharapuram. The police have recovered the body and conducting an investigation.


Tirupur: Easwaran is a farmer from Nandavanampalayam, near Kundadam in Tiruppur district. He is constructing a new well in his garden.

Kanakkampatti Karur workers are digging wells. Some workers have set up tents around the well and are staying there.

Perumal (45), a native of Anaigoundanpatti near Palayam in Karur district, went missing while staying in a tent yesterday morning.

They searched all over the neighbourhood but couldn't find him. They suspected this and removed the stagnant water from the 70-feet-deep well. Perumal was discovered dead in the well.

The Kundadam police were informed about this. The police reached on the spot, recovered the body through the fire department, and conducted an investigation.

It has been revealed that perumal, the worker, had accidentally gone to the well at night and fell down and died. The incident has caused grief in the area.
