'Awaiting approval from Centre to implement Avinashi Athikadavu project', says CM, Edappadi Palanisami


Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy has met the press for the first time in Coimbatore after his swearing in as CM. A press meet was hosted at the Coimbatore Government Guest House, in which CM stated that , “In the coming four years Tamil Nadu government will fulfill all the welfare and special schemes as proposed by the Former CM Jayalalitha.” When questioned about the secret ballot issue, CM refused to answer to it citing the incident as subjudice'.

“The long-pending Athikadavu -Avinashi drinking water project will be implemented once the central government gives a 'nod'. Once the project is through, drinking water and ground water problems in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode districts will be solved. Efforts have been taken to legally stop the construction of dams across the Bhavani River in Kerala. And, Farmers who were affected by the drought will be provided relief fund in 5 days time.” he said.

“We expect that the President will give his approval for the resolution that was passed in the Tamil Nadu assembly regarding the NEET examination. A meeting has been arranged with the Prime Minister on 27th February to discuss in detail of exempting Tamil Nadu from NEET examination.”

'Implementation of West By pass road, Mono Rail project, Integrated bus terminus, over bridge projects will also be carried out shortly. Tamil Nadu State government will work together with the central government to implement projects and for the welfare of the people'.
