Bike collides with electric pole near Kovaipudur - College student killed

Bhavish (23), a native of The Nilgiris district, was studying in a private college in Perur, Coimbatore. He was returning on a two-wheeler for a friend's birthday party. Bhavish died on the spot when the two-wheeler skidded off the road and hit an electric pole.



Coimbatore: A college student was killed after his bike lost control and rammed into an electric pole in Kovaipudur.

Sivakumar hails from Thakkar Baba Nagar in the Nilgiris district and is a labourer. He is survived by his son Bhavish (23). He was a final year student of a private college in Perur area. Bhavish had taken a separate room in Kovaipudu and stayed with his friends and was going to college.

In this case, he went to a friend's birthday party with a student named Hariharan on a Bhavish bike. They returned to the room on a bike. Hariharan was riding the bike at that time.

While coming towards Kovaipudu from Puttuvikki Road, the bike lost control and hit an electric pole on the side of the road.

While both of them were thrown out, Bhavish, who was sitting in the back, died on the spot. Following this, the police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the Coimbatore government hospital for post-mortem.

A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
