'Phoenix 2017', a five-day Simulated Management Game hosted in city.

With the objective of providing graduates an opportunity to test their business intelligence and speedy decision making skills, Firebird is organizing 'Simulated Management Game' for five days from February 20 to 24th, 2017 called 'Phoenix 2017' at the Chettipalayam Golf Course.

The programme is being hosted for Under Graduate students. About 750 students have registered for participation in the game for all the five days. The participating students have a chance of winning daily cash prizes of Rs.85,000 and consolation prizes amounting to a total of Rs.5 Lakhs.

In Phoenix 2017, the participating teams manage a notional business firm. Teams engage in business decisions concerning procurement, production capacity, pricing and other marketing, and enterprise finance and accounting. Teams will also review and analyse the business performance of the firm. Thus, the teams will acquire an all-round view of the business firm and of its objectives, processes, and outcomes.

A management course is largely conducted within the classroom, leaving little opportunity for teachers and students to see and participate in business practice. This limits them to a conceptual view of the management universe. Phoenix 2017 seeks to help the participating teams to understand business better through actions taken within the firm.

Phoenix 2017 offers the participating teams a deep experience of problem solving and decision-making as managers of business. Team learning is fun, and the interactions with the teammates will help students learn, surreptitiously. Most important, the participating teams can explore and experiment with their ideas with little fear of failure or embarrassment.

No prior or expert knowledge of business or management is needed to play or win at Phoenix 2017. The participating students need to simply follow instructions, read the manual and papers given to them, and discuss everything fervently with the teammates, before recording their business decisions.

Dr VinodDumblekar, an international expert will guide the participants in creating and hosting Simulated Management Games on all the days.
