The pensioners who worked with the transport department today conducted a protest demanding their various request be fulfilled by the Tamil Nadu government.
During the protest they raised the demands like Tamil Nadu government should run the pension scheme. The pension should be deposited in the account on 1st of every month. For the past one year, the increase in dearness allowance to 13% has not been implemented and it should be implemented, with immediate effect.
The 15% increase in family pension scheme should also be implemented immediately, was yet another plea by the petitioners. And, all monetary benefits should be settled to them, on the day of the retirement, the protester requested.
The protest was held in front of the Tamil Nadu transport corporation office located on the Mettupalayam road.
