D. Pandian, Senior leader of Communist Party of India (CPI) was in Coimbatore to participate as Chief Guest for a regional conference that was hosted in Chinniampalayam, this morning. Ahead of this conference, he interacted with the media.
“No MLA of the contemporary era enjoys the respect that leaders and rulers MGR and J Jayalalitha received. They (MGR and JJ) were adored by the people of Tamil Nadu. It is hard to come across anyone who has so much love and respect for political leaders of the modern day.” he said.
'The chaotic political situation in Tamil Nadu is due to the underhand tactics played by BJP in an intent to set their foot strong during the 2019 elections' the senior leader alleged.
Moving the focus to the daily administration activities of our state, Pandian said “The assembly is not problem-free. Every day the assembly has to deal with a new problem. The leaders of the ruling party and opposition party must display maturity. Individual ego and power must be put aside and the interest of the public must be given priority by the ministers.”
Pandian also added that a secret ballot could have been hosted to elect the Chief Minister of our state. “The members of the opposition party walking out of the assembly is not a nice sign. Nevertheless now that we have a Chief Minister in place, it is his duty to win back the confidence of the people of this state. If he manages to do so, Edappadi K Palaniswami will earn a good name from the public. It is in his hands to find an apt solution and act swiftly to resolve the the water crisis emerging in our state”, Pandian said.
