Mock drill to use drones to fire tear gas shells performed at Police Training grounds

The exercise was carried out in collaboration with the PSG College Robotics Department, and policemen demonstrated how to handle the drones and how to throw tear gas shells at a particular spot.


Coimbatore: A training cum mock drill exercise on the use of tear gas shells using drones to control the riots was held in the presence of City Police Commissioner K Balakrishnan in the police training school grounds here today.



The exercise was carried out in collaboration with the PSG College Robotics Department, and policemen demonstrated how to handle the drone and how to throw tear gas shells at a particular spot.



As part of the exercise, a riot control mock drill was also conducted. Police simulated the scenario and sounded warning through loudspeakers, shells were fired at the riot site to control the riots.

Robotics students of PSG College, professors, Coimbatore City Armed Police Deputy Commissioner Muralidharan, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sekar, and Police Inspector Govindaraj took part in the mock drill.
