A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between PSG Institutions and Government of Telangana, today.The MoU was signed by Shailaja Ramaiyer, Director of Hand looms and Textiles Telangana State and L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG Institutions in presence of K.T. Ramarao, IT Minister for Telangana Government, Jayesh Ranjan Secretary IT ministry Telangana, Dr.R Rudramoorthy, Principal of PSG College of Technology and Dr R. Nandagopal, Director PSGIM.

N.T.Ramarao, IT Minister of Telangana State while addressing the gathering shared that the 'MoU has been signed to create a strong Human Resource base in the state of Telangana. Telangana state is undertaking holistic development of Textile industry and is setting up a Mega textile park at Telangana'.

'Through this MoU, PSG and Telangana state will undertake activities relating to set-up textile park. PSGIM will provide all technical and academic assistance in skill development, entrepreneurship development/training, R& D support and relevant management development programmes. All funds required for accomplishing the task will be provided to PSG'.
'The textile and garment industry has an immense potential for employment. Nearly 60 percent of population is engaged in agriculture but shockingly only 15 to 17 percent contribute to GDP. Thus the Chief Minister of Telangana has given strict mandate for the development of rural population. In order to create employment opportunity for rural people and developing the economy, a mega textile park will soon be set up. With Telangana being the largest producer of cotton, this textile park will be a comprehensive destination for all kinds of garment'.
