It has been reported that a woman from Selvapuram in the city who killed her daughter due to personal problems was awarded life sentence at the Coimbatore Combined Court.
Aravindhkumar is a resident of Indra Nagar in Selvapuram in Coimbatore. He is survived by his wife Divya who reportedly strangled their four years daughter, Harivarsha to death.
Divya was staying at her mother’s home due to difference of opinion with her husband. She was working in a shop to take care of her financial commitments. On the day of the incident, Divya entered with a tussle with her mother on some personal issues. In a fit of rage, Divya mercilessly strangled her baby girl with a cloth in a fit of rage.
When this incident came to light, Divya was arrested by the police and was lodged in the prison. The case was on-going at the Additional District Court No:3. Today, Justice Karthikeyan sentenced Divya to life imprisonment for her remorseless crime.
