In a daring robbery, burglars loot Rs.1 lakh at knifepoint from a Retd. Government official’s house

Three unidentified miscreants, armed with a sickle in their hands, threatened Jayamani, and seized the key, before looting Rs 1 lakh from the cupboard.



Tirupur: In a shocking incident, burglars, who barged into the house of a retired government official at Palladam at midnight robbed Rs 1 lakh at knife point.

Jayamani hails from Perumbali in Palladam taluk of Tirupur district and he is a retired government official, who is living with his family.

Jayamani was sleeping at home with his wife and son last night when burglars entered his house.



Three unidentified miscreants, armed with a sickle in their hands, threatened Jayamani, and seized the key and before looting Rs 1 lakh from the cupboard.



Jayamani lodged a complaint at the Palladam police station about the incident.

It is learnt that Jaymani has kept the money aside for the medical expenses of his grandson, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.

The Palladam police filed a case and are investigating daredevil robbery.
