The historic Jallikattu protest staged by the people of Tamil Nadu to save Jallikattu received global recognition as the protestors choose the 'peace' path all through their week-long protest. But unfortunately, the last day of their protest witnessed 'undesirable' incidents as Police lathi-charged the protestors and forcefully disrupted their week-long peace protest.
A large number of protestors, especially students were injured due to the attack by the Police. This attack by Police received huge condemnation from the people and students community who claimed the act as totally 'unnecessary' and 'brutal'.

An enquiry commission had been setup under the leadership of Justice Rajeshwaran to probe the incident. In this regard, Justice Rajeshwaran today visited Coimbatore after completing his investigation in Marina, Chennai.
“A preliminary enquiry is been conducted at all protest sites to probe into the violence staged on the last day of the protest. Damages caused to property and people will be investigated. People's opinion will also be taken into account. Hence, People who were affected during the Jallikattu protests can file complaints to me, without any fear', Justice Rajeshwaran said.

He today visited VOC park grounds, Gandhipuram bus terminus, CODISSIA grounds to conduct his investigations. During the inspection, Coimbatore District Collector T.N. Hariharan, Coimbatore City Assistant Police Commissioner (Law&Order) Lakshmi and Revenue Department Officials were present during the inspection.
