Celebrate Feb.14 as 'Cow Hug Day:' Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying

All cow lovers have been encouraged to mark and celebrate February 14 hereon as 'Cow Hug Day' keeping in mind the importance of the mother cow as a symbol of emotional richness.


In Indian culture, with the 'cow' being seen as sustaining life as the 'Kamadhenu' and 'Gaumata' due to its nourishing nature like a mother and as the giver of providing riches to humanity.



In view of the immense benefit of the cow as a symbol of well-being, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying stated that hugging the cow will bring emotional richness hence and in turn increase our individual and collective happiness.

Therefore, all cow lovers have been encouraged to mark and celebrate February 14 hereon as 'Cow Hug Day' keeping in mind the importance of the mother cow to make one's life happy and full of positive energy.
