Scientists and students of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) conducted a workshop for farmers in Pollachi on controlling whitefly attacks and Kerala wilt diseases affecting coconut crops.

In the meanwhile, coconut crops have been affected by various diseases and pests in the last few years and due to this, coconut farmers have been badly affected.
Training and demonstration on disease control measures was conducted for coconut farmers at Pollachi on behalf of scientists and students of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) to control whitefly
attack and Kerala wilt disease on coconut crops.
TNAU Scientists Kavitha, Janakirani and students participated and imparted training to the farmers on the selection of coconut seedlings, modes of pest control, control of rhinoceros beetles, use of bio-fertilizers etc.
A large number of coconut farmers from Pollachi participated in this and benefited.
