Burglars break open a private transformer company, decamp with copper wires worth about Rs 16 lakh near Peelamedu

Unidentified miscreants broke open the door of a private transformer company near Peelamedu and have stolen copper wires worth about Rs 14.60 lakh.


Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, copper wires worth about Rs 14.60 lakh were stolen from a private company in the K.R. Puram area in Peelamedu.

A privately owned transformer factory is functioning at the K.R.Puram area in Peelamedu, and the employees went home after the night shift.

When the security man returned to work yesterday morning, he found that the front door of the factory had been broken opened.

When he went inside, he found that 1,440 kg of copper wires worth about Rs 14.60 lakh had been stolen from the factory.

Following this, the factory's General manager Varadarajan lodged a complaint with the Peelamedu police.

The police have registered a case on the basis of the complaint and are on the lookout for the miscreants who stole the copper wires

Earlier, the police examined the CCTV footage and looked out for the culprits.
