Citizen Consumer Club of Sree Narayana Guru College organized an awareness programme on, “Weighing Measurement & Packaging Commodity Act” today, 14 February at Vivekananda Hall.
M.Mahesh Kumar, Convenor, Citizen Consumer Club, welcomed the gathering. T.Murugesan, Inspector of Labour, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest for the programme. In his speech, he spoke about what consumers should know. Information like about the contents of packages and weight measurements of products they buy for consumption. He also educated his audience about the authorities with whom the consumers should register their grievances.
N.Pradeep Kumar, General Secretary, Tamil Nadu Consumer Association, in his speech discussed the importance of consumer rights and role of Citizen Consumer Club. S.Balaji, Assistant Professor of Commerce, proposed the vote of thanks. For the Student members of Citizen Consumer Club of Sree Narayana Guru College this programme was an eye-opener.
