Kovai Kutralam witnesses huge crowd due to Pongal holidays

A large number of tourists thronged Kovai Kutralam in Coimbatore along with their families on Pongal holiday.



Coimbatore: Even as the extended Pongal holidays has given an opportunity for the public to visit places of their choice, many have chosen tourist spots to spend their time with family and friends.



As January 17 is celebrated as “Kaanum” Pongal Day, thousands of tourists flocked to Kovai Kutralam, one of the most important tourist destinations in Coimbatore.



Children and adults of all ages enjoyed bathing in the falls along with relatives and friends.



Later, they celebrated Pongal with enthusiasm by exchanging sweets and food items they had brought with them.



Due to heavy rush the visiting families had to wait in long queues to get tickets.



Security has also been beefed up in the Kovai Kutralam area of Coimbatore in view of the festival crowd visiting the falls.
