'Vetri Palli' initiative continues to nurture and embolden the students of Corporation Schools

'Vetri Palli' Project by Aram Foundation Charitable Trust is a proven and commendable project that aims at training the class 10th and 12th Students of Corporation Schools in both academics and non academic activities. Nurturing students and instilling social responsibility among them is one of the predominant goal of Vetri Palli initiative.

Since it's inception last year, nearly 10 Corporation Schools have got benefited under this one-of-a-kind initiative. Continuous sessions were conducted at the Schools by the Team of Aram Foundation Charitable to motivate and boost their self-confidence. Students were advised to face the examinations with courage and optimistically, as a result of which students of all ten Corporation Schools passed in the examination and came out in flying colors.

Latha Sundaram, Managing Trustee of Aram Foundation Charitable Trust speaking with SimpliCity shared that,'This Vetri Palli initiative will continue every year, as it helps to groom the students the right way to face examinations and life pragmatically. Through this initiative, counselling sessions are being conducted on a timely manner to the students on career guidance, handling issues like inferiority complex, adolescence and hormonal issues.

Apart from that, we have four teachers working with our foundation who specialize in language and maths classes for the students. Upon, surveying the issues that these students suffer academically, we found that a majority of the students from Corporation Schools find English and Mathematics very tough. So, that's when we decided to focus on the two subjects more comprehensively and using smart classes to facilitate easier understanding of the subject.

For the year, 2017 City Corporation Commissioner allotted three more Corporation Schools from Okiliyur, Venkitapuram and Selvapuram to be covered under the Vetri Palli Project. Today, a career guidance programme was hosted for students of Okiliyur Corporation School.

Through this session the students were encouraged to choose their career path, we sensitized the students that they are free to choose their aspirations. Chellam Narendra, a leading career consultant from the city addressed and interacted with the students of Okiliyur Corporation School. She emboldened the students to face life with courage and work hard towards their goal. To achieve success, the right path has to be chosen, Chellam Narendra said. The career guidance session was supported by Mr. Madhavan.
