IT employee arrested for robbing Rs.4000 cash at knife point near R S Puram

In a shocking incident, an IT employee was caught red-handed by the public and handed over to the police after he allegedly threatened a private food delivery employee at knifepoint and tried to extort money near R S Puram.


Coimbatore: Muthukumar (37), is a native of Kurumbapalayam near Velapatti in Coimbatore district and he works in a private food delivery company.

A youth on a two-wheeler threatened Muthu Kumar to part with his money, while he was standing on Sri Shanmuga Road in R.S. Puram. But when he refused the youth robbed Rs. 4,000 cash from him at knifepoint.

However, onlookers caught him red-handed and later turned him over to RS Puram police.

During the investigation, it was found out that the arrested youth was Pramod (23), a resident of the same locality, who is a BBA graduate and is working in an IT firm.

Police arrested him, produced him in court and remanded him in custody.
