Tourists enjoy a rare sighting of tiger at Mudumalai Tiger Reserve

The tourists were treated to a rare tiger - sighting at the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve during a routine safari jeep ride inside the jungles.



The Nilgiris: The tourists were treated to a rare tiger- sighting at the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve during a routine safari jeep ride inside the jungles.



The tigerss was seen rolling down on the lawn in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and tourists enjoyed taking pictures of the tigress which seemed to be relaxing.

Tourists visiting the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in the Nilgiris district, which has an area of 688 square kilometres, will be eager to spot wild animals like tigers, leopards, bears and elephants in its natural environment.

The forest department has been running safari visits in jeeps for the tourists to enjoy wild flora and fauna.

Last evening, a tiger suddenly came to the roadside even as the tourists gaped at the rare sighting from the vehicle.



“One can even see an elephant but it is rare to see wildlife like tigers and leopards during such visits. We are so thrilled to spot a tiger crossing the road and then rolling down on the grass by the side of the road” one of the tourists said.
