Latchiya Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (LDMK) members today hosted a protest in Coimbatore against construction of check dams across Bhavani river in Kerala.

When speaking to the press regarding the trending political situation in the state and the check dam issue, Secretary of LDMK, T. Rajendar said, 'Kerala government has permission to draw only 6 TMC water from Bhavani but now the Kerala government is building check dams at Devakuttai and Manjakandi across the Bhavani river. Close to 30 TMC of water can be stored in these check dams. Tamil Nadu government has passed a resolution in the assembly against the construction of the dams'.
Speaking on the chaotic political situation in the state, “MLAs are kept under control and are taken to undisclosed locations in luxury buses. Sasikala can be the party's General Secretary. People of Tamil Nadu are totally against her decision to become the CM of the state. If, in case Sasikala becomes the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, chances are there for the state to be sold through an auction' T. Rajendar, said.
“In this chaos, people should not think of choosing Stalin as the Chief Minister and LDMK is certainly clear about this.” he added.
“Panneerselvam should disclose the MLAs who will support him to prove majority. If the judgment on the disproportionate assets case is passed, there is no question of Sasikala becoming the Chief Minister. I believe the judgment will be fair in this case.” he said.
Despite the incident, when women cadres of the AIADMK party poured cow dung mixed water on Subramaniaswamy, he has supported Sasikala's decision to become CM. He does not know what he is speaking.” he said.
