Temple priest burnt to death under mysterious circumstances near Tirupur

Subramani, who was working as a priest at a temple in Vengamedu area of Tirupur, was burnt to death behind the same temple. His charred corpse was recovered by the Anupparpalayam police.


Tiruppur: Subramani (72), a native of Vengamedu in Tirupur district who is a temple priest in the area lived with his wife Parvathi (65), their daughter and son.

On Saturday morning, when Subramani's daughter Gowri went to Subramani's room to give him food, she was shocked to find that there was a lot of blood in his room. After searching for her father, the daughter went to the back of the temple and found Subramani's charred body.

The Anupparpalayam police were immediately informed about the incident and the police reached the spot to recover Subramaniam's body. The corpse was sent to the Tirupur Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The police are investigating if Subramani was murdered due to prior enmity with someone.

Locals in the area were shaken by the tragic incident of the mysterious death of the temple priest.
