Tirupur Principal Sub-Court sentences two persons to seven years imprisonment for attacking a TASMAC bar employee

Tirupur Principal Sub-Court sentenced two persons to 7 years imprisonment for attacking Karthikeyan, a TASMAC bar employee at Palavanchipalayam near Tirupur with a broken liquor bottle and seriously injuring him.



Tirupur: Karthikeyan (25), a native of Manapparai in Trichy district was working as an employee at a TASMAC outlet bar in Palavanchipalayam area of Tirupur.

On the night of November 1, 2019, when he was walking along Chettipalayam road, two tipplers Maharaja (25) and Praveen Kumar (20), both residents of the same area had threatened him to part with some money.

Karthikeyan who refused to give the money the duo demanded was attacked by the duo.

The accused Maharaja and Praveen Kumar broke the liquor bottle they were hiding and attacked Karthikeyan. He was seriously injured in the incident and admitted to hospital.



Based on a complaint lodged by Karthikeyan at the Nallur police station, the Police had registered an attempt to murder case and arrested both Maharaja and Praveen Kumar and sent them to jail.



The trial was conducted at the Principal Sub-Court. Judge Chelladurai had spelled out the sentence of seven years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.1,000 on the accused persons.
