Even as debris fell on the road at the 13th hairpin bend, traffic came to a standstill and alarmed motorists had to wait for the fire brigade to clear traffic.

On information, the fire brigade rushed to the spot immediately and removed the debris to restore traffic.

Traffic on the Coonoor-Mettupalayam ghat route was disrupted for over an hour due to the landslides caused by continuous rains and roads being dug up for road-widening works.
