Women fearlessly trap snake in waterlogged residential area in city's Kuniyamuthur area

A venomous viper entered Kuniyamuthur's Vasantham Colony due to waterlogging in the area caused by heavy rains. Since snake charmers could not reach the spot immediately on being informed, women in the area fearlessly caught the snake and released it into the forest area.

Coimbatore: With heavy rains lashing Tamil Nadu, there has been waterlogging along with landslides and trees being uprooted in several areas of Coimbatore.

Habitations in the low-lying areas face even greater hardships when there are heavy rains. Residents who are struggling to clear stagnant water now have another danger lurking in waterlogged areas in the form of venomous snakes and insects.

Kuniyamuthur's Vasantham Nagar in Coimbatore has been flooded due to heavy rains. A 4 ft venomous viper entered the area leaving people in utter panic.

Though snake charmers were immediately informed, since there was an unnerving delay, women in the area fearlessly stuffed the snake into a plastic bottle and dumped it in a nearby forest area.
